Best Coffee Shops in Flagstaff
Can’t start your day without coffee, aye? Even if you don’t like or don’t drink coffee, the vibes are always on point. Fun fact, I was Mormon from age 18-25, so coffee wasn’t allowed. But now that I’ve left the church, I’m living my best life and enjoying coffee. Hot caramel latte’s are my fav. Keep in mind, all of these restaurants will be saved on a google maps for you to save and reference in the future.
Macy’s European Coffee House
Macy’s European Coffee House is an amazing community centered coffee shop. I love to see how others are involved in community. While we were in line, there were groups and families of cyclists, people catching up, the “usual locals” and their dogs everyone knows. I swear I saw like 20 dogs that hour, including mine. It is such a cute, cozy spot. You can order from the to-go window or inside. They’re so good at latte art, too!
Firecreek Coffee
This coffee shop is located in the middle of Downtown Flagstaff, by all the fun shops- and is actually next to a crystal shop. I love the earthy vibe of this shop, and the location is great, too!
Matador Coffee Roastery
Matador Coffee Roastery is an adorable drive thru and walk-in roastery that greets you as you come off the highway into Flagstaff. Perfect all year round, this shop is owned for over 20 years from a local Arizona couple. Highly recommend stopping by, as this is one of the best coffee shops in Flagstaff.
Best Breakfast in Flagstaff
Flagstaff has plenty of great breakfast spots, whether you’re looking for a quick coffee and pastry before hitting the trails or a hearty meal to start your day in the mountains. From classic diners serving up pancakes and eggs to cozy cafes with locally roasted coffee, there are plenty of delicious options around town. These are some of the best breakfast restaurants in Flagstaff to fuel up before a day of exploring northern Arizona.
Sosta
Sosta is one of the best spots in Flagstaff for a relaxed breakfast and great coffee. Located just north of downtown, this bright café serves a thoughtful morning menu with pastries, breakfast dishes, and quality coffee drinks that make it the perfect place to start your day. The space has a beautiful modern-meets-historic feel with plenty of natural light and a cozy patio, making it an ideal stop whether you’re fueling up before a hike or enjoying a slow mountain-town morning. In addition to breakfast and espresso drinks, Sosta also offers fresh lunch options like salads and pasta later in the day, all made with carefully sourced ingredients.
Biff’s Bagels
Biff’s Bagels is my go-to choice in Flagstaff. It is in Downtown, near Macy’s Coffee that I mentioned above. They have sweet bagels, savory bagels, and breakfast sandwiches. It’s the perfect grab-and-go meal before going out for a morning hike.
If you’re looking to sit down and get in a full breakfast, go to Toasted Owl. I haven’t been, but I know people rave about it, telling me it’s one of the best restaurants in Flagstaff altogether. Everything is owl themed, and the menu has a great variety.
Mike and Ronda’s is a classic american breakfast. I have a friend that went to college in Flagstaff, and this was her favorite spot to go, that is also affordable.
Best Restaurants in Flagstaff for Lunch & Dinner
Flagstaff has a great mix of casual lunch spots, local breweries, and sit-down restaurants perfect for dinner after a day of exploring northern Arizona. Mother Road Brewing Co.
Mother Road Brewing is named after the “Mother Road” or Route 66. If you didn’t already know, Route 66 runs through Flagstaff. Mother Road Brewing is in a beautiful, old, historic building. They have both inside and outdoor seating. Dog-friendly, too. When we went last, every table outside had a doggie under it. They do have a small food menu, so keep this in mind if you plan on eating here. We LOVED their appetizer sampler. Asbolutely delicious.
Pizzicletta
Pizzicletta is located right next to Mother Road Brewing. They make AMAZING wood fired pizza. I went with my husband and a friend after hiking Mt. Humphrey’s and we each ate an entire pizza, haha. This is also a dog-friendly spot!! Check out this beautiful across from Pizzicletta and Mother Road Brewing!
Lumberyard Brewing Co.
Lumberyard Brewing is located right near the railway that goes through Downtown Flagstaff. They have a large menu, so come hungry. It is usually very busy, so make sure to leave time to wait. I absolutely love their texas toast bread burgers, and their mac and cheese is killer. The only thing i DONT like is that their outdoor patio is NOT dog friendly.
Dark Sky Brewing Co.
Like a good theme? Dark Sky Brewing is a space-themed brewery, beer garden, and taproom in Flagstaff. They are constantly coming up with new seasonal items and beers.
Diablo Burger
Diablo Burger is a must for new Flagstaff visitors. I have been a few times, and honestly I need to go again. This is a curved shaped building by the Old Town Shops in Downtown. You order inside, and then sit outdoors on Town Square. They are famous for their branded “db” buns. Absolutely delicious.
Collin’s Irish Pub
Collin’s Irish Pub, located on the corner of Downtown Flagstaff, is one of the best pubs in the state. You can enoy dinner, stay late for night life, or enjoy games. They have a wide selection of drinks for you to enjoy all night long, haha. Really cool building, too.
Crystal Creek Sandwich Co
One of my favorite things about traveling is supporting local businesses. This shop isn’t too sightly from the outside, but boy are the sandwiches YUMMY. They take time to make your individual subs just like you want them. Love their homemade drinks and lemonades, too.
Silver Pine Restaurant
When I stayed at Little America Flagstaff, I was able to try out their restaurant, Silver Pine. I don’t always have the highest hopes for restaurants at hotels, but this one proved me wrong!! Their chef is amazing and I loved all the food I had- the pasta, the strawberry salad, bruschetta, coffee, etc. I highly recommend for a nice breakfast, lunch, or dinner in Flagstaff.
Urban Pine Eatery
Urban Pine Eatery is a great casual spot in downtown Flagstaff for lunch or dinner, especially if you’re craving comfort food with a creative twist. The menu features handcrafted flatbread pizzas, fresh salads, hearty subs, and shareable sides like garlic knots and seasoned fries, all made with fresh ingredients and bold flavors. Located right in the heart of downtown, the restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere and a dog-friendly patio, making it a fun place to stop after exploring the shops and trails around Flagstaff.
