Whether you’re new to the area or you’ve been a few times, I wanted to separate Sedona into regions, so you understand where each stay is. Each area has it’s own personality, views, vibes, and costs.

If it’s your first time visiting Sedona, Uptown Sedona is the best place to stay for convenience and views. You’ll be steps away from restaurants, art galleries, and boutique shops. Many of the best hotels in Sedona are located here, offering balconies that overlook the red rocks and walkable access to everything downtown. It’s a great choice for those who want to be in the heart of the action without needing to drive far for meals or shopping.

west sedona

West Sedona honestly has a mix of everything. This area is home to locals and long-time visitors who love being close to trails, grocery stores, and coffee shops. It’s also where you’ll find plenty of mid-range and luxury hotels & resorts in Sedona, along with cozy vacation rentals. West Sedona is only a few minutes’ drive from Uptown but offers a calmer atmosphere — perfect if you want to balance adventure with quiet evenings.

Located just south and a bit east of Uptown Sedona are a few beautiful hotels with even more beautiful red rock views. It’s close to some of Sedona’s best hikes, including Bell Rock, Cathedral Rock, and Courthouse Butte, making it perfect for active travelers. Hotels here tend to be more spacious and affordable, with great restaurants and coffee shops nearby.

It sits next to Oak Creek and has bright, stylish rooms, a serene infinity pool, and a spa inspired by the surrounding desert landscape. Delicious restaurant and bar, too. Oh, and it’s dog-friendly!! With its central location, guests can walk to shops and restaurants yet still enjoy a calm, retreat-like atmosphere. My husband and I stayed for our anniversary.

It’s located right off Highway 179 near Uptown, with direct access to trails and walkable dining options. I love that it’s pet-friendly, the  complimentary breakfast is actually delicious, and the sunset overlook trail right on the property is so beautiful.
