it’s that time of year- time to climb the talles it’s that time of year- time to climb the tallest mountain in arizona!!

📍humphreys peak, flagstaff at 12,633 ft

it’s a real butt kicker let me tell you but I’d do it over & over again! highly recommend staying in flagstaff the night before to limit going from 1,000 elevation in the valley to 12,000 in a few hours.

budget your whole day for this hike, and of course one of the best parts is finishing & enjoying a yummy meal!!

the hot temps are coming back 🥵 here are place the hot temps are coming back 🥵

here are places you can getaway in arizona to get out of the heat and what i like about all of them ⤵️

📍MOGOLLON RIM
•only <1.5 hrs from phoenix, the perfect bridge to amazing places like the rim, christopher creek, pine, strawberry, and more 
•check out the shroom room, danzeisen dairy ice cream, and common grounds coffee AND below the rim meadery

📍PINE
•an amazing small town vibe with restaurants like THAT brewery and old county inn. has an awesome downtown with lots of shops
•quick drive to water wheel falls, washington park, etc

📍STRAWBERRY
•only a few miles from pine
•stay at the strawberry inn and eat at the pie bar and windmill coffee
•hike fossil creek (itself is not the best summer activity)

📍FLAGSTAFF
•usually 20 degrees cooler than the valley. nights feel epic.
•the downtown is my FAV downtown in the state. so many festivals and art fairs and the farmers market & shops to see
•too many good places to eat than I can even list on here!

📍SEDONA
•honestly still pretty dang hot in summer unless you’re at the “end of the world” or in the water!

📍WHITE MTNS
•show low, pinetop, lakeside, greer… oh my!
•eat at cycleogical coffee, darbis, and more. i love staying at the nook pinetop
•such beautiful green hikes with rivers like Thompson trail

the morning I made coffee in our campervan rental & got to enjoy it at tunnel view in yosemite was 😮‍💨

strawberry & pine arizona are located only 1.5-2 hrs north of phoenix via highway 87 through payson!

it’s such a quick drive for such a rewarding change in scenery & elevation 🌲

ive been multiple times for the last decade & here are some of my favs:

🍓EAT, hahahaha. at places like @windmillcoffeeaz , @oldcountyinn , @fossil_creek_farm_llc , @btrmeadery & @piebaraz 

🍓HIKE, at tonto bridge national monument, the pine-strawberry trail, the arizona trail, washington park, FOSSIL SPRINGS, the rim & so many more!

🍓SHOP, downtown pine & strawberry are so cute! places like the @pinelavenderfarm is a great shopping experience!
