How to Find the Aspen Corner Swing in Flagstaff

by | Aug 18, 2026

Hidden among the aspens outside Flagstaff is one of the cutest little tree swings in Arizona. The Aspen Corner swing is located near Arizona Snowbowl and only requires a short walk to reach, but it can be surprisingly easy to miss if you don’t know exactly where you’re going.

I’ve visited this spot myself, and in this quick guide I’ll show you how to find the Aspen Corner swing, where to park, which trail to follow, and the best time to visitโ€”especially if you’re hoping to see the surrounding aspens turn golden in the fall.

How to Find the Aspen Corner Swing: Directions

Parking

From Flagstaff, take Highway 180 toward Arizona Snowbowl, turn right onto Snowbowl Road, and continue for about 5โ€“5.5 miles. Look for the small Aspen Corner sign and dirt parking area on the left side of the road. Be respectful of seasonal parking restrictions! It’s easy to confuse Aspen Corner with Aspen Nature Loop, so I included a photo below. You can access the swing starting from Arizona Snowbowl & The Aspen Nature Loop, but from Aspen Corner is easier.

Hiking

From the parking area, take the trail leading into the aspen trees which is part of Alfa Fia Tank Loop. You’ll walk approximately 0.4 miles before there is a small side trail to the left. You can actually see the swing from this point.

The Aspen Corner swing is tucked into the aspen grove along this short walk, so keep an eye out as you make your way through the trees. It isn’t marked with its own trail sign, which is why it can be surprisingly easy to walk past if you’re not specifically looking for it.

The walk is short and relatively easy, so you don’t need to plan a full hike just to visit the swing. However, I recommend continuing just a bit father because this area is gorgeous.

Best Time to Visit

You can visit Aspen Corner throughout the warmer months, but fall is by far my favorite time to see the Aspen Corner swing. The surrounding aspen grove turns bright yellow and gold, making the swing especially beautiful for photos.

Fall colors around Aspen Corner typically begin changing in late September, with some of the best color occurring from late September into early October. Peak foliage varies from year to year depending on temperatures and weather, so don’t plan your trip around the exact same dates every fall.

If you’re visiting during peak fall colors, I highly recommend going early in the morning or on a weekday. Aspen Corner is one of the most popular leaf-peeping spots around Flagstaff, and parking along Snowbowl Road can get extremely busy on October weekends.

More Things To Do Near Aspen Corner

Don’t drive back to Flagstaff immediately after finding the swing! Aspen Corner is surrounded by some of the best hiking and mountain scenery around the San Francisco Peaks, so it’s easy to turn this quick stop into a half-day adventure.

Aspen Nature Loop: Take an easy hike through more beautiful aspen groves near Arizona Snowbowl.

Arizona Snowbowl: Continue up Snowbowl Road for mountain views and seasonal activities, including the scenic gondola when it’s operating (love this in the fall).

Kachina Trail: If you want a longer hike, Kachina Trail winds through forests along the San Francisco Peaks and is especially beautiful during fall.

Downtown Flagstaff: Head back into town for coffee, lunch, local shops, breweries, and restaurants after your morning in the mountains.
