it’s amazing that there are SO MANY DIFFERENT sedona itineraries you can come up with!

what to expect ⤵️

•tours are 4-6 hrs long depending on what you choose, morning or afternoon
•our captain said generally mornings are better for conditions, afternoons for views (lighting on the mountains)
•more intense in the front of the boat (we were up front the whole time! views were amazing but our quads, booty, neck, and upper back were SO sore the next day, versus a girl fell asleep in the back of the boat HA)
•snorkeling stop, sea caves, waterfalls, and endless views
•they had water, snacks, soda, & big dry bags for all of us!!
•apply sunscreen multiple times!! we were sunshirts which were such a good choice (@senita - use code DANIELLEOUTDOORS_, & @rei Sahara men’s sunshirt)
•we were with about 12 other people!
•amazing knowledgeable captains
•approx $250+ pp

*whether you rent in your state or when you travel out of state

benefits of renting in-state: be able to experience more luxurious camping, ease of set up, temperature control, etc. when in arizona we love using @bohovans 🚐

benefits of renting out-of-state: experience a new state, be flexible on where you stay (not having to travel back to your hotel), save money by your car & hotel being wrapped up in one! we used @campervanhawaii & loved them!! #hosted

so many of you answered my poll that you want to rent a van, but you may not know what to expect! I didn’t my first time! let me help you out!

•cost: expect approx $200-250 a night
•supplies: most have some type of stove top & sink & usually supply all kitchen supplies
•extras: come with camp chairs, table, outdoor mat, cooler, etc
•showering: most have an outdoor shower (some are heated!)
•bathroom: some have a portable toilet (@arizonacampervan does but we chose not to use it to prevent extra cleaning on our part)
•bedding: comfortable queen bed
•temperature: if you’re lucky your van will have A/C! they also have windows you can open & a ventilation fan up top
•battery: easy to keep charged when driving
•charging your devices: @campervanhawaii keeps you prepared with plugs everywhere, even by the head of your bed!
•extra: so nice being able to put the window covers up & change if you need to, take a nap mid day, really anything you need or want!

i grew up in wisconsin & as much as it shaped who i am and I have many fond memories (especially in summer), i DREADED coming from vacations. UGHH… back here again?

when i moved to Arizona, it all changed. For the last 10 years when i fly home from vacation & see the desert from the sky, I feel GRATEFUL. I love living in the desert. It’s such a beautiful & unique place.

Vacation has a great way of allowing you to escape and appreciate new foods, experiences, and different ways of life which is so important.

But what’s even more important is loving where you live. LOVING the mundane every day life. 🫶🏻
