Leavenworth Restaurants: A Foodie’s Guide
What’s a trip to a new place without trying the local food? I love checking out the local restaurants, especially in mountain towns. Leavenworth is a historically Bavarian Town, meaning it’s full of German pretzels, beer, cider, and bratwurst. I don’t regret anything that I ate. I’m here to help you pick what you want to eat on your trip to Leavnenworth.

Rein Haus is definitely one of the most popular restaurants in Leavenworth. It is very central to the downtown area- close to parking and walking. You’ll notie the line is always out the door- for good reasons! I love that this restaurant has indoor seating as well as balconies looking over the town. The waiter hooked me up with a private balcony at the time (because I was alone, lol). This is a must-try Leavenworth Restaurant.
RECOMMENDED MEAL: Vanilla Bean Cider, Rein Haus Burger, Soft Pretzel with Beer Cheese

The atomosphere at Icicle Brewing Company is SO MUCH FUN. The exterior drew me in, but the fun kept me there. Their menu is limited in terms of full means, but their drinks and apps are to die for. they have an indoor downstairs where they have live music, and on Mondays they have BINGO NIGHT. I ws lucky enough to go on a Monday, and I played Bingo (& won!) for hours. It’s a good way to meet people and interact with the staff. Definitely one of the best Leavenworth Restaurants.
RECOMMENDED MEAL: House Pretzel and Homemade Root Beer.

One of my favorite Leavenworth Restaurants was Leavenworth Pizza Company. I know it’s not typical Bavarian Food, but it was delicious. The service was quick and the food was great! I always love when pizza shops do pizza by the slice, if you don’t want to pay for a whole slice, or if no one is sharing it with you.
RECOMMENDED MEAL: Iron Goat Pizza by the Slice (Feta, Balsalmic, Pepperoni, and Greens), Shareable Pretzels, Beer
OTHER RESTAURANTS
Obviously, I wasn’t able to eat at every restaurant. I was able to walk by and see most of them, and read about most of them! Here’s a few others I recommend checking out if you have time!
MUNCHEN HAUS: Beer Garden. Known for their Brats/Sausage, Beer, and Pretzels.
LEAVENWORTH CIDER CO: Known for cider, pizza, etc.
BAREN HAUS: Typical German Food, highly rated
SULLA VITA: Italian, Expensive
BEST DESSERT IN LEAVENWORTH
Not only is Leavenworth full of good food, but they’ve got desserts too! I was plenty full after trying all the food, but one can always leave room for dessert. Here’s a few of my favorites!
WHISTLEPUNK ICE CREAM

Whistlepunk Ice Cream is definitely the most popular dessert restaurant in Leavenworth, and for good reason. Every day the line was at least 20 minutes long. I decided to wait, and man the smell inside the store is soooo good. My Salted Caramel Waffle Cone is to die for.
OTHER DESSERTS
There’s a few good places for desserts. Most unique is the Gingerbread Factory. Most highly rated is Whistlepunk. Most common is Coldstone. If you only have time for 1, visit Whistlepunk.
GINGERBREAD FACTORY: Gingerbread treats & pastries
DAS SWEET SHOP: Candy, drinks, and popcorn
COLDSTONE: The classic ice cream, with a Bavarian theme
