the perfect escape from the phoenix heat is closer the perfect escape from the phoenix heat is closer than you think 💦 water wheel falls in the payson area is one of arizona’s most rewarding waterfall hikes — and most people have no idea it exists.

trail details:
📍 water wheel falls, payson az
🥾 ~1.6 miles out and back
⏱ 1-2 hours
🌊 multiple waterfalls along the trail
🚗 about 90 minutes from phoenix

the lush green canyon, the sound of the creek, the red rocks — it genuinely doesn’t feel like arizona in the best way possible.

→ hike the narrows (walk IN the river)
→ angels landing for the views (permit required)
