An Introduction to The Food Scene in Sedona
Sedona’s food scene is a flavorful reflection of its surroundings—vibrant, creative, and full of local character. You’ll find everything from upscale dining with panoramic red rock views to cozy cafés tucked along Oak Creek to super casual options. Many restaurants emphasize fresh, locally sourced ingredients and Southwest-inspired dishes, blending flavors from Arizona, Mexico, and beyond.
Breakfast & Coffee Shops
Sedona’s mornings are made for slow starts and scenic sips. Whether you’re fueling up before a red rock hike or easing into the day with a latte and canyon views, the town’s breakfast and coffee scene delivers the perfect mix of cozy and inspiring. You’ll find everything from local roasters crafting espresso in tucked-away cafés to hearty brunch spots serving Southwest-style plates with a view.
Tucked into the charming Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village, the Secret Garden Cafe delivers a cozy patio atmosphere where you can enjoy coffee, a nice fresh orange juice, and numerous breakfast options (they do lunch and dinner, too!) I love the aesthetic of this cute place. The patio is dog-friendly, too.
Indian Gardens Cafe & Market is located north of Uptown Sedona, in Oak Creek Canyon. It is a popular restaurant because of it’s quaint aesthetic and adorable, lush back patio. I love this place so much- definitely one of the best restaurants in Sedona. THIS IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PLACE TO EAT IN SEDONA.
While this isn’t a traditional “breakfast” restaurant, I wanted to include it as it’s so cute, honoring the local name and landscape. Their donuts are delicious, and they serve coffee as well. It’s a great post-hike option for a sweet treat! This cute mural below is actually at the Cottonwood location!
The Coffee Pot Restaurant is a classic American breakfast spot that has been around for many decades. It’s casual, high-energy, and generous on portions—perfect for fueling before a big hike or for a hearty morning meal with friends. Add it to your list of best restaurants in Sedona.
For a lighter, wellness-focused option, Local Juicery serves organic cold-pressed juices, smoothies, açaí bowls and vegan fare in a bright, relaxed setting. I loved my avocado toast. It’s especially appealing to guests looking for clean eats post-hike or a low-key brunch stop rather than full traditional breakfast- make sure to check it out!
Lunch & Dinner Restaurants
Sedona’s lunch and dinner dining scene is as vibrant and varied as its landscapes—offering everything from casual midday refuels on patio decks overlooking red-rock vistas to elegant evening experiences with craft cocktails and elevated cuisine. At lunch, you’ll find relaxed spots serving up gourmet burgers, fresh salads, Southwest-inspired tacos and small plates ideal before or after a trail. Come evening, the scene shifts into something a bit more refined—restaurants presenting wood-fired steaks, local trout, inventive vegetarian dishes, and curated Arizona wines all set against iconic canyon views.
Tucked just off AZ-179 between Uptown Sedona and the Village of Oak Creek, Hideaway House is a charming Italian-inspired spot that pairs hearty, homemade dishes with some of the most stunning red-rock views in town. It’s family-friendly and dog-friendly, too! Highly recommend this restaurant in Sedona.
Add Sedona Pizza Company to your list of best restaurants in Sedona. I’ve been here many times, and I enjoy the cute location tucked-in next to other local shops. Of course, the pizza is great too. It’s located in Uptown Sedona.
Elote Café is a standout dining destination where elevated Mexican and Southwestern cuisine meets the red-rock backdrop. It is owned by a man who has traveled his way through Oaxaca, Veracruz and Puebla, Mexico- so the the menu highlights those bold local flavors, seasonal ingredients and thoughtful craft cocktails. Favorites include the namesake “elote” street-corn appetizer and rich entrees like smoked pork cheeks or lamb adobo. Because reservations fill fast, it’s wise to plan ahead!
cowboy club grille & spirits
The Cowboy Club Grille & Spirits has deep roots in Sedona’s history, and I can’t believe I haven’t been yet- but I had to include it. It originally opened in 1945 and it served locals and film crews as a saloon. Over the decades, as more than fifty Western movies were shot in the region. Today, it keeps the historic Old-West ambiance with their interesting dishes — think rattlesnake sausage, cactus fries, game meats and hearty steaks.
I always love enjoying local craft beer when I visit places. Oak Creek Brewing Co. is a great option. Shop in the adorable Tlaquepaque and then stop by Oak Creek Brewing upstairs. They have indoor and outdoor options. Add it to your list, and you won’t be disappointed.
Fine Dining & Drinks in Sedona
I wanted a separate section in this guide to include fine dining options and the best places to get a drink in Sedona. This is perfect for a couple’s getaway or girl’s weekend away. Let’s go through a few options.
This is a 5-star restaurant overlooking the red rock in West Sedona, run by Chef Lisa Dahl. Mariposa Sedona is a latin-inspired grill that truly honors that in all of the dishes. Open for lunch and dinner and takes reservations. Especially for dinner, you may need to make a reservation days or weeks in advanced. I went for lunch and will note it’s pricey, but 100% worth it for special occasions. Absolutely stunning interior and exterior too.
@danielleoutdoors_ ive been looking at mariposa sedona from the road for YEARS and it did not disappoint, wow. so worth it.

Butterfly Burger is another Chef Lisa restaurant. It is slightly less “formal” or “fancy” than Mariposa Sedona, but no less beautiful and delicious. I love the dark, moody vibes that totally elevates a “burger restaurant.” Their bar is also fantastic and drinks are great. I don’t believe they do reservations- make sure to go early to get a seat.
If you’re looking for a winery (yes, Arizona has them!), D.A. Ranch is a great option. Just a short 12-minute drive south of Sedona, D.A.Ranch offers a dreamy wine-and-drink stop that blends laid-back ranch charm with vineyard sophistication. It is a desert oasis with rolling vineyards, a rustic barn, and beautiful old willow trees- it barely feels like Arizona. This spot is dog-friendly and family-friendly. Add this to your list of “best restaurants in Sedona.”
SaltRock Kitchen is a bar & restaurant located in Amara Resort in Sedona. It is in Uptown Sedona, tucked up next to Oak Creek. If you’re looking for a vibey bar in a beautiful location, this is a great option.
