Grand Hyatt Kauai Review: My Honest Opinion
When you’re planning a trip, it’s hard to decide where to stay. Hotel? Airbnb? Rough it? Splurge? Even if you narrow it down, it’s hard to know if a place will be as good as the photos look, or if it will be worth it. I’m here to give you super honest and in depth reviews of hotels all over the US to help you choose where to stay. Today we are reviewing GRAND HYATT KAUAI.

About Grand Hyatt Kauai
The Grand Hyatt Kauai is a 5-star (ohhh yeah) hotel in Kauai, Hawaii. This property has 50 acres of oceanfront property- absolutely insane. I counted, and it took 0.3 miles to walk from my car to the hotel room (and I didn’t mind one bit). On top of the beautiful rooms, there are acres of gardens, a salt water lagoon, a lazy river, multiple restaurants, a golf course, and its own beach. It is close to the airport and lots of local shops, restaurants, and activities. It is unforgettable. Let’s review it!
Rooms
Average $850. Large rooms, luxury showers, large balcony. Pets are not allowed.
Pool
Very large pools, including an adult-only pool, a lazy river, a salt lagoon, and hidden hot tubs. They also have a poolside bar and restaurant.
Amenities
Amazing spa on site, pool/beach rentals available, multiple laundry rooms, room service.
In-House Food

Check In Process
The Grand Hyatt Kauai is a 5-star resort, and you will be treated like you’re in one. We pulled up to check in, and instantly the staff placed a REAL lei on us and gave us fresh fruit water. We checked in, and the bell boys drove our luggage to our rooms. It was incredible. We felt like VIPs.
Rooms
Lets do a Grand Hyatt Kauai Review on the rooms. The rooms were great. Very clean. Formal vibes. Ours was incredible becuaase it was ocean front. Waking up to sunrise over the ocean is just amazing. The bed was comfortable, TV was great. Bathroom felt luxurious. Even had a bidet, but I was too chicken to use it, haha. I’m very picky about hotel showers, and this one was GREAT.

Pool
Next Up on the Grand Hyatt Kauai Review: The Pools. There is truly a pool for everyone at The Grand Hyatt. Want to sit under a waterfall grotto? Hop in the lazy river. Want to lay in the pool in warmer water? Get in the salt river lagoon. Play with your kids? Done. Watch them while you sip a drink? Done. And, it’s all oceanside. On top of that, the landscaping and plants around the pool are gorgeous. Really looks like it’s built into the landscape.
Anara Spa
If you’re staying at Grand Hyatt Kauai, I highly recommend splurging at Anara Spa. It was only a short walk from our rooms- even better. They have a full spa menu. My husband and I chose to do massages at the same time. Cell Phones are not allowed in main areas, so I limited photos. When you check in, you get slippers and a robe and a locker. There are showers made of volcanic rock that are beautiful. In the main area while you’re waiting for your massage, rotate between the sauna, steam room with eucalyptus oil that smells like heaven, and a hot tub. I will say, for a 5 star hotel, this main area wasn’t very aesthetically pleasing. BUT, the massage itself- heavenly. Each room was open air, and while I got my massage I listened to the quiet meditation music on top of the plants flapping in the breeze. Magical.
Property Photos
Restaurant: Tidepools
Whether you’re staying at The Grand Hyatt Kauai or NOT, you NEED to eat at Tidepools. Tidepools is an award-winning restaurant at the resort with island style bungalows that sit over beautiful koi ponds. They have a wine and dessert menu, and mutipe courses available with seasonal items. I even sat next to reality TV stars (yes I’m serious- the show with the roses, if you knnow what I mean haha). Many celebrities have eaten here before! We had a baked feta salad, chicken and fish, amazing dessert donuts, bread- everything we could. This was one of the most amazing nights of my life- no joke.
Beach
Last up on the Grand Hyatt Kauai Review- the beach. The resort is oceanfront. We enjoyed time taking some photos here- actually a lot of people took professional pictures here. One of the mornings, we woke up at sunrise and ran across the beach and up Shipwreck Rock (in the background) which was SO BEAUTIFUL.
Things to Do in the Area
Make sure to drive 3 minutes down the road one morning and eat at Little Fish Coffee. Absolutely delicious- all the food and the drinks. I think we ate here 3 times haha. I also suggest heading to The Shops at Kukui’ula down the road- so many restaurants and shops to grab a souviner. The best part about our trip was Kokee and Waimea State Park and Na Pali coast. In the photo below, we took a raft tour on the Na Pali coast.
Summary: Grand Hyatt Kauai Review
It does cost a lot, but it is 1000000% worth it. If you have a special occasion to celebrate (ours was being done with student loans), or you have the budget to splurge, this stay will definitely be worth it. Consider travel hacking (for example, getting a travel credit card 6 months before your trip and using point to book your hotel, at least for a few days). Happy adventuring!!!
